Special guest: Eric Nager, MD, is a functional medicine physician who is opening his practice at Belcara Health in Baltimore, Maryland, in January of 2019. After over 20 years as an emergency physician, Dr. Nager felt compelled to pursue his passion of finding the root cause of illness in his patients. Dr. Nager is board certified by the American Board of Anti-Aging / Regenerative Medicine (ABAARM). When he is not engaged in learning all he can to help his patients, he is spending time with his wife and two children. Special guest: Rex Jones has been an educator with Garden of Life for more than 8 years and brings with him a lifelong passion for the natural foods industry and a strong knowledge of herbs. For more than 13 years he worked in a natural foods retail setting as a nutrition manager and herbalist. Rex also led classes, co-hosted a radio show, managed web content and gave a variety of in-store and off-site health lectures. Special guest: Anthony Thomas, PhD, earned his B.A. in nutrition, dietetics and food science from California State University Northridge, his doctorate in nutritional biology from the University of California at Davis, and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of California at Los Angeles Larry Hillblom Islet Research Center. His primary research interests have focused on the influence of dietary and lifestyle factors on chronic cardiovascular/metabolic diseases including obesity, insulin resistance syndrome, and type 2 diabetes. He has authored/co-authored multiple peer reviewed scientific manuscripts and serves on the Jarrow Formulas’ Scientific Panel.
Special guest: Dana Laake, RDH, MS, LDN, provides preventive and therapeutic medical nutrition services in Kensington, Maryland. Her practice encompasses the full spectrum of complex health issues for all ages, including children with special needs, ADHD and autism. In addition to media presentations, writing, radio talk show hosting and providing professional continuing education courses, Dana has been a Maryland legislative assistant on health issues and has served four gubernatorial appointments on two state health care regulatory boards.
Special guest: Joshua Chernov is a senior medical consultant for Xymogen with a focus on functional and integrative medicine. He is a certified personal trainer and a certified lifestyle educator. He is developing dietary and exercise regimens for cardiometabolic patients throughout the mid-Atlantic area, as well as working on a masters in nutrition.

Dr. Stokes received her naturopathic doctor degree from Bastyr University in 2001. Shortly afterwards she began to pursue her passion for educating others by teaching Western Pathology and Psychology of Healing at Southwest Acupuncture College. She combines her experience as a naturopathic doctor with an extensive background in the natural products industry. Special guest: Benjamin Lynch, ND, received his bachelor of science degree in cell and molecular biology from the University of Washington, and his doctorate in naturopathic medicine (ND) from Bastyr University. His passion for identifying the cause of disease directed him toward nutrigenomics and methylation dysfunction. Currently, he researches, writes and presents worldwide on the topic of MTHFR, methylation defects and genetic control. Special guest: Amber Lynn Vitse, CN, is a certified nutritionist in Integrative Nutrition, and also brings her training in Ayurvedic medicine to the Garden of Life education team.
