Georgia Austin, MSACN, CCN, CNS, is a clinical nutritionist and owner of New Leaf Functional Nutrition in Manlius, NY. She also serves as a training specialist for Metagenics, a health science research company. Georgia is passionate about educating healthcare professionals and patients alike. Her services include developing personalized nutrition and lifestyle plans for anyone looking to improve their health and well-being. Bill Shaddle has been involved in helping doctors understand and apply nutrition as a therapeutic tool for nearly 40 years. Bill has managed sales teams, product lines, divisions and companies in the nutritional sciences field. He has developed workshops and training programs on different health and nutritional topics and is co-author of the acclaimed Nutrition Masters Course series. Bill is currently the Senior Director of Strategic Development for Metagenics, where he uses his background and knowledge to help translate Metagenics’ science into practical application for the healthcare practitioner.
Special guest Dr. Pavel Klein, MD
Dr. Pavel Klein, MD, is the founder and director of the Mid-Atlantic Epilepsy and Sleep Center in Bethesda, MD. He is a former instructor at Harvard and Georgetown Universities and developer of a meal program designed to prevent, and treat, type 2 diabetes. Dr. Klein’s clinical research includes novel treatments of epilepsy, dietary treatments of epilepsy in adults, prevention of epilepsy after traumatic brain injury, the effect of sex and stress hormones on epilepsy, and women with epilepsy. Dr. Klein has published more than 30 peer-reviewed articles and contributed chapters to several books on epilepsy.
