Special guest: Sam Pappas, MD, is an internist in Vienna, Virginia. He received his medical degree from Penn State College of Medicine and has been in practice for more than 20 years. He is a member of the Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM), the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine (A4M), and Metabolic Medical Institute (MMI). Dr. Pappas focuses on personalized care integrating multiple modalities of interconnected therapies such as nutrition, fitness, stress reduction and nutraceuticals. He was selected as a 2018 Top Doctor in the Washingtonian Magazine.
Special guest: Anthony Thomas, PhD, earned his bachelor’s degree in nutrition, dietetics and food science from California State University Northridge, his doctorate in nutritional biology from the University of California at Davis, and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of California at Los Angeles Larry Hillblom Islet Research Center. His primary research interests have focused on the influence of dietary and lifestyle factors on chronic cardiovascular/metabolic diseases including obesity, insulin resistance syndrome, and type 2 diabetes. He has authored/co-authored multiple peer reviewed scientific manuscripts and is currently a consultant for Jarrow.
