Ross Pelton, RPh, PhD, CCN, began his career in the health sciences after graduating from the University of Wisconsin School of Pharmacy in 1966. He is the author of several books, including two on the topic of drug-induced nutrient depletions. He also has extensive experience in alternative cancer therapies and was the administrator of an alternative cancer treatment hospital in Baja, Mexico. In 1994, Ross became a certified clinical nutritionist. A significant part of his career has been devoted to speaking, writing, and conducting seminars on a variety of health-related topics.

Tavis Piattoly, MS, RD, LDN, is the sports dietitian and nutrition consultant for the NBA’s New Orleans Pelicans, and the Tulane University Athletics Department. Prior to this, he held the same position for the New Orleans Saints for several years. He works with athletes from high school to Olympic levels, designing individualized nutrition programs to improve their health, performance and recovery.

Amber Lynn Vitse is a Certified Nutritionist in integrative nutrition, and also brings her training in Ayurvedic medicine to the team. In the last several years she has been writing for several natural health publications, educating retailers and consumers on what quality really means in both foods and products. Steve Christensen, MD, is the Medical Affairs Consultant for Thorne. He received his degree from the University of Utah School of Medicine and completed his family medicine residency at McKay-Dee Hospital Center in Ogden, Utah. A board-certified family physician, he practiced the full gamut of rural medicine, much of it as a solo practitioner, in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Oregon and Montana. After leaving medical practice in 2003, Steve and his wife Tonya owned and operated a nutrition and health food store in Newport, Oregon, before returning to the Inland Northwest.
