Special guest: Kim Allan Williams, MD, MACC, FAHA, MASNC, FESC, is Chief of the Division of Cardiology at Rush University and specializes in cardiology, prevention and cardiac imaging. He has served on numerous national committees and boards including serving as the President of the American College of Cardiology, President of the American Society of Nuclear Cardiology, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Association of Black Cardiologists. He is also the founder of the Urban Cardiology Initiative in Detroit, Michigan to reduce ethnic heart care disparities, and continues community-based efforts in Chicago at Rush. A native of Chicago’s South Side, Dr. Williams has over 30 years of experience as an educator, researcher, and physician.
Special guest: Thomas A. Bowman, DPM, PhD, earned his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine with a clinical focus on diabetic limb salvage, sports medicine, and biomechanics, and his PhD in biomedical sciences from the University of Toledo with a concentration in cardiovascular and metabolic disease. Dr. Bowman is a senior scientist with Jarrow Formulas, and his responsibilities include product substantiation, research and development, marketing and science writing. He has contributed to several peer-reviewed journal publications and continues to collaborate on research projects.
Special guest: Dr. Michael Murray, ND, is widely regarded as a leading authority on natural medicine. He is a graduate, former faculty member, and serves on the Board of Regents of Bastyr University in Seattle. Dr. Murray has published over 30 books featuring natural approaches to health. Host Dana Laake is a licensed nutritionist providing preventive and therapeutic medical nutrition services for over 25 years. Her practice includes the nutritional evaluation and treatment of the full spectrum of health issues affecting children and adults. Dana holds a Master’s degree in nutrition from the University of Maryland.
Special guest: Veronica P. Gasko, DC, graduated from Life Chiropractic University in Marietta, Georgia, in 1989. Shortly after beginning practice, she started using nutrition as part of her protocols to help patients achieve their health goals. Her success led to opening three practices specializing in functional nutrition with chiropractic sports and pediatric care. Dr. Gasko has lectured throughout the US and Canada on pediatric chiropractic, along with her sister Theresa Warner, DC. Special guest: Anthony Thomas, PhD, earned his B.A. in nutrition, dietetics and food science from California State University Northridge, his doctorate in nutritional biology from the University of California at Davis, and conducted postdoctoral research at the University of California at Los Angeles Larry Hillblom Islet Research Center. His primary research interests have focused on the influence of dietary and lifestyle factors on chronic cardiovascular/metabolic diseases including obesity, insulin resistance syndrome, and type 2 diabetes. He has authored/co-authored multiple peer reviewed scientific manuscripts and serves on the Jarrow Formulas’ Scientific Panel.

Dr. Weiss is the first Naturopathic Physician to complete an internship, fellowship and residency at a conventional hospital (AZ Heart Institute). He is the first Cardiologist as a “Naturopathic Physician” and has treated more than 40,000 patients over the past 17 years. In 2012 he was named one of the “Leading Physicians in the World” a distinction given to under 1,000 physicians each year. He has worked in Haiti, Tibet, and recently on the Syrian border both in a medical capacity, and as a researcher to look at the biochemistry of violent behaviors, and radicalization.
